Lattice is a private knowledge tool I built for myself to capture ideas quickly and turn them into something usable. I never released it publicly, but it reached a fully working stage with a complete frontend, backend, and AI pipeline.
Features
- Inbox to Insight: Capture free-form notes (typed or voice) and convert them into structured idea cards.
- Knowledge Library: Browse, filter, and search cards using exact, semantic, and hybrid search.
- Graph View: Visualize related ideas in an interactive knowledge map.
- Contextual Chat: Query your own knowledge base in recall, synthesis, or drafting modes.
- Project Canvas: Evolve project ideas over time with AI-assisted updates, risks, and next actions.
- Blog Drafting: Generate article drafts grounded in selected cards and voice profiles.
Technical Details
Built as a containerized full-stack system with Next.js (TypeScript/Tailwind) on the frontend and Symfony (PHP) on the backend. Data is stored in PostgreSQL with pgvector for semantic retrieval, with Redis + Symfony Messenger handling async AI processing. OpenAI models power extraction, embeddings, transcription, and grounded response generation.
